Linum usitatissimum L., Sp. Pl. 1: 277 (1753).

Description

Seeds of flax occasionally show up in potpourri. These are shiny, pointed, brown, and 3-4 mm x 1.5-2 mm.

Nativity and distribution

Linum usitatissimum is only found in cultivation, but is native to the Fertile Crescent area.
