Aspidosperma cuspa S. F. Blake ex Pittier, Man. Pl. Usuales Venez. 1: 10 (1926).

Description

The capsules of pereiro-amargo, commonly called pintado hearts in the potpourri trade, appear as woody hearts. This tree bears 3-5 cm long capsules enclosing winged seeds. The inside of the capsule is smooth, the outside heavily veined and slightly pebbled.

Aspidosperma cuspa is native to Brazil.
