Forsythia xintermedia Zab., and possibly others; 'Spectabilis' is a common cultivar of F. xintermedia.

East Asia.

Brief characterization

Yellow flowers borne along leafless woody branches; 4-parted, green calyx; corolla ca. 2-4 cm across; corolla rotate; tube short and lobes oblong, spreading.
