About Citrus Pests

Arthropod pests of citrus may cause direct damage to citrus through feeding, or they may act as vectors for serious diseases.Citrus plants are particularly prone to infestation by aphids, whiteflies, and scale insects, though moth and beetle larvae also can cause significnat damage to foliage and root systems, and mites can cause extensive damage to fruit. Accurate identification of the pest is important in determining how or whether to treat an infestation. Citrus Pests was developed to help with the identificaiton of over 50 important pests of citrus in the United States, as well as some that may be of potential concern. Citrus Pests will be available in 2012.
