Gonophora sinata Gestro.

Diagnosis

 

Micrispa can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:

  • lateral margin of pronotum and elytra without long, stiff spines
  • body broad, expanding apically
  • head without frontal horn between antennae, clypeus well-developed
  • pronotum with seta in each posterior angle, cordate, lateral margin broadly margined
  • elytra without scutellar row of punctures, with 8 rows of punctures, tricostate
  • tarsi with 2 claws

Description

 

Small; expanding apically; convex; broad; color yellow to black, some species with greenish tinge; total length 2.3 to 4.7 mm.

Head: large; convex; eye large, very convex; clypeus large.

Antenna: with 11-antennomeres; ½ body length; expanding to apex; antennomere 1 subglobose; 2 subequal in length to 1, subglobose; 3 to 4 subequal in length, each shorter than 2.

Pronotum: cordate; convex; lateral margin rounded, broadly margined; anterior angle rounded; posterior angle acute; with longitudinal carina on each side; surface punctate.

Scutellum: subquadrate; rounded at apex; impunctate.

Elytron: lateral margin broadly rounded; exterior apical angle rounded; apex rounded; humerus rounded, not produced; slightly constricted behind humerus; with 8 rows of punctures; tricostate, all interrupted in middle.

Leg: short; robust; tarsi with 2 claws.

Admiralty Islands, China, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam.
