Heptatomispa kesseli Uhmann.

Diagnosis

 

Heptatomispa can be distinguished by the following combination of characters:

  • the lateral margins of the pronotum and the elytra without long, stiff spines
  • the head without a frontal horn
  • the pronotum with a seta in each anterior angle
  • the apex of the elytra without a tooth-like projection
  • the elytra with 8 rows of punctures at base, expands to 10 on apical ½ with 3 regular costae
  • the antennae thickened at apex, not clavate, with 7-antennomeres, antennomeres 1 to 6 transverse, 11 rounded at apex
  • the prosternum does not expand anteriorly to partly cover the mouth

Description

 

Small, parallel‑sided.

Head: medial sulcus absent; vertex with depression behind eye; surface micropunctate.

Antenna: with 7‑antennomeres, large; antennomeres 1 to 6 transverse, punctate; 7 thick, oval; 6 not as long as preceding two combined, transverse.

Pronotum: convex; alutaceous; with large punctures, along base arranged in two rows.

Elytron: with 8 rows of punctures at base, expands to 10 on apical ½; 4 costae, 1, 2, and 4 entire; surface alutaceous.
